The information on this page pertains solely to Kingdom: Two Crowns.

Crown stealers[1] are a type of Greed that leap over walls pursuing the Monarch to attack him/her, ignoring coins and gems, and instantly knocking off the crown.

OccuringEdit

Crown stealers are encountered late game, during Blood Moons (around day 80) and normal nights (but not at least before day 200). When one of them spawn from a portal, there is a creaky sound that can be heard anywhere on the island.

They may appear running on the ground (and they run faster than any of the mounts) or riding on the backs of breeders. When the breeder they ride on dies they continue onward towards the Monarch. They will jump over walls and stop at nothing to get to the crown.

TacticsEdit

They don't have much health, but they are so fast that archers can hardly hit them while they are running. However, they are vulnerable to fire and it also seems that knights can kill them in one blow. A way to lure them is to make them run into the base, as the archers/knights can easily run in and deliver a killing blow.

A simple way to deal with the crown stealer when caught on your own with him is to hide behind a wall and to alternate with going in front and behind it. The leaper animation there is slow enough for you to hopefully attract the attention of a soldier.

It is also best if you hear the creaking/squelching sound to stay inside of your walls because they can arrive very quickly after the sound is heard.

Another good way to kill them is to launch fire at them while still on the ground so they burn before actually damaging you and taking the crown. If they are on a Breeder and set fire to it, that will set fire to the Crown Stealer, thus damaging and/or killing the Stealer and Breeder.
